Well into the beginning of the new year, I’m already very happy about how it has started. I’ve completed two watercolour paintings, and I’ve attended a super inspiring course in photopolymer printing, which also included a bit of monoprint techniques, and a lot experimenting. So much fun!
The first completed painting was this, made to a thought, a poem, and a picture that came to mind, and that left me sleepless for hours. Only after writing down the words, and making a quick sketch of the picture, I was able to sleep.
I’m considering whether or not to display it at the exhibition I’m attending i Nittedal this year, the Spring Exhibition (Vårutstillingen i Nittedal). This is the third year in a row I’m honoured to be a part of the exhibition.
The other two years, I’ve exhibited rough, coastal landscapes from the north norwegian area. Those paintings have been pretty good welcomed (first year, all paintings were sold out by the end of the second day, – thank you!).
But, now, if I exhibit something completely different, I really don’t know how the respons will be, and that makes me a bit nervous. (Ok, exhibiting makes me kind of nervous anyway)
The second completed painting was this, made around the same theme. I think there will be more paintings coming in this serie, I really feel I haven’t completed it yet. There are still ideas that keep me on the “go”, but happily not sleepless.
Well, let’s see what the year brings. I’m excited to discover the continuing, and also the exhibition. If you’re curious to know more about the Spring Exhibition in Nittedal, you can visit their facebook page here.
